Fee Finder Inc. (“Fee Finder,” “FeeFinder,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a federally incorporated Canadian company with its principal place of business in Manitoba, Canada.


This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you access or use the FeeFinder mobile application, website, related services, beta features, communications, and any other products or services that link to this Privacy Policy.


FeeFinder is a subscription and service-fee comparison and tracking application. It helps users manually compare, track, and understand recurring service fees, subscription costs, and related pricing information. FeeFinder does not connect to your bank account, access your online banking credentials, process payments for your third-party subscriptions, provide financial advice, or make credit, lending, insurance, investment, or eligibility decisions.


We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, other Canadian federal, provincial, territorial, or international privacy laws that may apply based on where users are located or where personal information is processed.


If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use FeeFinder.

3. Personal Information We Collect


We collect only the personal information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, improve, and operate FeeFinder.


3.1 Account and Authentication Information

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

  • Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In identifiers;
  • Authentication tokens or session data;
  • Password reset information, if applicable;

If you use Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, those services may provide us with limited information necessary to authenticate your account, such as your name, email address, and unique account identifier, depending on your settings with those providers.


3.2 Subscription, Budget, and Service Information You Manually Enter

FeeFinder allows users to manually enter and track information about subscriptions, recurring fees, and service providers.
This may include:


  • Names of subscription services or service providers;
  • Service categories, such as streaming, telecom, internet, cable, music, or other recurring services;
  • Estimated monthly or annual costs;
  • Budget tracker entries;
  • Split-payment or cost-sharing information;
  • Notes you add to your budget entries;
  • Favourite services or categories;
  • User-entered fee amounts;
  • Suggestions for services or categories;
  • Reviews, ratings, or feedback you submit;
  • Region or province information, if used to improve pricing relevance.


This information may reveal spending patterns, subscription habits, household cost-sharing arrangements, or personal preferences. You should not enter sensitive information that is not necessary to use FeeFinder.


3.3 Information We Do Not Collect

FeeFinder does not collect or access:


  • Online banking usernames or passwords;
  • Bank account numbers;
  • Full credit card numbers;
  • Social Insurance Numbers;
  • Government identification numbers;
  • Credit scores;
  • Loan applications;
  • Investment account information;
  • Insurance applications;
  • Payment credentials for your third-party subscriptions;
  • Direct access to your third-party provider accounts.


FeeFinder is not an open banking app at this stage and does not currently connect directly to financial institutions.


3.4 Device, Technical, and Usage Information

We may automatically collect technical information when you use the app, including:


  • IP address;
  • Device type;
  • Operating system;
  • App version;
  • Browser type, where applicable;
  • Session duration;
  • Pages, screens, or features used;
  • Crash logs;
  • Diagnostic data;
  • Error reports;
  • Security logs;
  • Approximate location derived from IP address, where applicable;
  • Analytics events used to improve app functionality.


We use this information to operate the app, troubleshoot bugs, improve performance, detect abuse, prevent fraud, and secure our systems.

If you contact us, participate in beta testing, submit feedback, request support, or communicate with us, we may collect:

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. You may still receive necessary transactional or account-related communications.


3.7 Payment and Subscription Information for FeeFinder Paid Features

If FeeFinder offers paid subscriptions, premium features, or paid services in the future, payments may be processed by Apple, Google, Stripe, or another payment processor. FeeFinder does not intend to store full payment card numbers.


We may receive limited payment-related information, such as:


  • Subscription status;
  • Purchase date;
  • Renewal date;
  • App store transaction identifier;
  • Plan type;
  • Billing country or region;
  • Refund or cancellation status.
  • Payment processors and app stores process your payment information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Aggregated or de-identified data does not reasonably identify you. We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified information except where permitted or required by law.


5. Automated Comparisons and Better Offer Alerts

FeeFinder may use automated logic to compare user-entered subscription or fee information against our database of publicly available, manually collected, partner-provided, or user-submitted pricing information.


This may power features such as:


  • Better Offer Alerts;
  • Estimated savings;
  • Alternative provider suggestions;
  • Fee comparison results;
  • Category-based insights;
  • Budget tracker summaries.


These tools are informational only. They do not evaluate your creditworthiness, income, debt, identity, eligibility, suitability, or qualification for any financial product or service. They do not produce legal, financial, credit, insurance, lending, investment, tax, or accounting decisions.

You should verify all pricing, fees, eligibility, terms, cancellation rules, promotions, and service availability directly with the relevant provider before making decisions.


6. Consent

By creating an account, using FeeFinder, submitting information, or enabling specific features, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.


Where required, we may ask for additional consent for specific features, such as:


  • Marketing communications;
  • New data uses;
  • Partner promotions;
  • B2B analytics or data monetization;
  • Sensitive data features;
  • New integrations;

  • BrandFetch or similar logo/brand asset APIs;

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers.


Service providers are only authorized to use personal information for the services they provide to us, subject to their own legal obligations and contractual commitments where applicable.


7.2 Legal, Compliance, and Safety

We will not share your user-entered budget tracker information with third-party service providers for their independent marketing purposes without your consent.


8. Cross-Border Processing and Cloud Storage

FeeFinder is based in Manitoba, Canada, but we use cloud and technology service providers that may store or process personal information in other provinces, in the United States, or in other countries.


As a result, your personal information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is stored or processed, including lawful access by courts, law enforcement, regulators, or government authorities.


We remain responsible for personal information under our control and take reasonable steps to use service providers that provide appropriate privacy and security safeguards.


9. Data Retention


We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:

  • Operate the app;
  • Maintain security;
  • Resolve disputes;

Account information and user-entered subscription/budget information are generally retained while your account is active.


We may retain aggregated or de-identified data indefinitely, provided it does not reasonably identify you.


10. Account Deletion and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information through the in-app account deletion tool, where available, or by contacting us at legal@feefinder.ca.


When you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your active account within a reasonable period, subject to:


  • Legal obligations;
  • Security requirements;
  • Fraud prevention;
  • Backup retention;
  • Transaction records;
  • Dispute resolution;
  • Legitimate business record requirements.


Backup copies may persist for a limited period before being overwritten or deleted. We will not use deleted account information for active app functionality after deletion, except where retention is legally permitted or required.


If you submitted reviews, ratings, suggestions, or other content, we may retain that content in de-identified or anonymized form unless applicable law requires otherwise.


11. Your Privacy Rights


Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:


  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Request deletion of your personal information;
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing;

No app, database, network, or method of electronic transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.


You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.


13. Security Breaches

If we become aware of a breach of security safeguards involving personal information, we will investigate and assess the incident.


Where required by law, including where a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and report the breach to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or other applicable authorities as soon as feasible.


We may also notify affected users of steps they can take to reduce potential harm.


14. Children and Minors

FeeFinder is intended for users who are at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their province, territory, state, or country of residence, whichever is higher.


We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor without appropriate legal authorization, we may delete the account and associated information.


FeeFinder is not directed to children and should not be used by minors.


15. User Content, Reviews, and Suggestions

If you submit reviews, ratings, suggestions, comments, feedback, or similar content, that content may be visible to us and, depending on the feature, to other users.


Do not include sensitive personal information in reviews, suggestions, or public-facing submissions.


We may moderate, remove, de-identify, or restrict user content that violates our Terms, creates legal risk, contains personal information, is abusive, misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate.


16. Third-Party Links and Services

FeeFinder may include links, logos, information, or references to third-party services, providers, websites, promotions, app stores, or APIs.


We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, accuracy, or policies of third parties. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.


17. Changes to This Privacy Policy


We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.


If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, by email, or by other reasonable means. The updated policy will be effective when posted unless otherwise stated.


Your continued use of FeeFinder after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
